With this project, I was tasked with redesigning an existing book from a specific collection. The goal for this project was to create a design and identity for the book that not only captures its essence, but will also appeal to today's readers. This consisted of updating the cover design, revising the layout and typography, and changing the inside pages to match with the overall look and feel of the book.
As a fan of Winnie-the-Pooh while growing up, I wanted to make sure the design would attract and appeal to kids of this generation. I went with an illustrative approach using the silhouette of the iconic figure and one of the main characters of the story, Winnie-the-Pooh. When you look deeper into the silhouette, you can see the environment in which the story takes place in addition to some important elements that readers will learn about more when they read the book. The color palette incorporates warm tones such as a reddish pink and yellow to create a warm and welcoming feel while also simulating the colors that are seen in Pooh.
